AREA FORUM/WARD GRANTS
Matter for Consideration:
To consider applications under the Area Forum/Ward Grants Schemes.
Information:
The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £20,000 to each Ward and the Area Forums have been awarded budgets equivalent to £7,500 per ward covered for the financial year 2013/2014. The funding for either scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community.

Councillors Galley and Williams of Anchorsholme Ward have requested £2,295 to provide 24 Christmas Trees at various locations throughout Anchorsholme Ward.

Councillors Clapham and H Mitchell of Bispham Ward have requested £300 as a contribution towards repairs to a gulley adjacent to 100 Beaufort Avenue to eradicate ponding which has been a long term problem.

Councillors Taylor and Mrs Taylor of Claremont Ward have requested £1,000 to Claremont First Step Centre to fund urgent repairs to the minibus used for community transport by Claremont First Step Centre.

Councillors Mrs Henderson MBE and Hunter of Highfield Ward have requested £200 as a donation for the use of Lancashire Boys and Girls Clubs mobile youth club to offer activities in Highfield Road Park.

Councillors Boughton and Mitchell of Layton Ward have requested £924 to fund the purchase and installation of a Christmas Tree from the Illuminations Division with led/festoon lighting and Christmas features.

Councillors D Coleman and Elmes of Marton Ward have requested £2,011.80 to fund the supply and installation of gates and fixed panels at Airedale Avenue Green Space to deter anti-social behaviour.

Councillors Evans and Stansfield of Stanley Ward have requested £179 to JAM Catering to provide refreshments for the Christmas Tree Light Switch-On in Stanley Ward on 29th November.

Councillors Jackson and Owen of Victoria Ward have requested £250 to Waterloo Primary Academy as a donation to the pre-school mother and toddlers club at Waterloo Primary Academy to provide help and support to the parents of children at the club and for some new toys for the club.
